Got a problem with your dog jumping/pulling/digging/etc? Bring your dog to this class!

Here, you will learn how to handle your dogs in different situations, and learn to condition your dogs responses. Whether you just want to fix a problem, or trial your dog, obedience is a great way for you and your dog to meet new friends!!

There are four levels of classes conducted at the club:

Class One

To achieve the standard of Level 1, the handler/dog team should be able to perform the sit, down and stand exercises, and will have been introduced to short stays and recalls.

Class Two

To achieve the standard of Level 2, the handler/dog team should be able to perform a reliable automatic sit, sit-for-examination and the dog be generally obedient in the various positions (ie. Sit, down and stand) and stays. The dog/handler team will also have been introduced to the ‘finish-to-the-recall’ and ‘release’ exercises.

Class Three

To achieve the standard of Level 3, the handler/dog team should be able to perform a reliable recall, finish-to-the-recall, stand-for-examination and demonstrate solid stays.

Class Four

To achieve the standard of Level 4, the handler/dog team should be able to show a good standard of competence, being able to work with the dog off-lead without the dog wandering.

From Level 4, the handler/dog team can attend a Proficiency examination. If the team is successful in this examination, they will receive a Proficiency Certificate and Badge to recognise their efforts.

For handlers interested in taking obedience to the competitive level (must have achieved the level of Proficiency Certificate), ring run-outs are held on Tuesday nights. Please enquire with one of the instructors for further details.

Classes are held on Friday nights at 7.30pm. Intakes are on the 1st and 3rd Friday of the month at a cost of $25 (includes single membership and 2 nights training). Please see My First Night for further details.

Training fee is $5 per night
